About The Kaeppler Family
Dear Friends & Family,
In March 2025, our family had the incredible honor of being featured as the Fund A Cure Family at the Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Gala. It was a truly special evening, one that celebrated progress, acknowledged the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, and united our community in the shared hope of finding a cure.
The event exceeded all expectations, raising an astounding $2.14 million to fund life-changing research, therapeutics, advocacy, and the many vital programs that Breakthrough T1D champions. We were deeply touched to learn that our friends and family contributed over $100,000 to this effort. What an incredible reminder of the strength and generosity of our community. Seeing so many loved ones come together in support of Nora, and everyone living with type 1 diabetes, was profoundly moving.
We’re thrilled to share that Nora continues to thrive. Her strong spirit along with the care from her teachers and caregivers, and the power of today’s technology, allows her to live life to the fullest. That’s not to say it’s easy. Every day brings new challenges as we strive to balance careful management of her condition with the joy of letting her be a kid.
Our hope for the future remains clear: A world where Nora, and all those with T1D, no longer face these challenges. That’s why we’re so passionate about supporting Breakthrough T1D. The innovations that make a difference in Nora’s life today exist because of research made possible through this organization’s efforts.
As an Endocrinology Fellow at Children’s Wisconsin, Caitlin has gained an even deeper appreciation for Breakthrough T1D, seeing firsthand how their research funding supports advancements in screening, prevention, and disease-modifying therapies for her patients.
We’re already looking forward to another inspiring evening at the 2026 Breakthrough T1D Gala, taking place on March 7, 2026. We’d love for you to join us in the ballroom, or support the event through our fundraising page. Every contribution helps advance research, advocacy, and programs that bring us closer to a cure.
Please consider any level of support that makes sense for you: This can take the form of purchasing individual tickets, hosting a table, donating an auction item, or making a Fund A Cure contribution. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of every person who faces the daily challenges of managing T1D.
With love and appreciation,
The Kaeppler Family
