In October 2020, during the uncertainty of the COVID shutdown, our world changed overnight.

Our five-year-old Jocelyn went from having a fever and feeling tired… to drinking water nonstop and sleeping far more than normal. A pediatrician visit, a finger stick, and one word on a meter — High — sent us straight to the ER.

The next few days were a blur of needles, tubes, fear, and learning a new reality we never expected for our little girl. The months that followed were filled with questions and worries, until technology like Dexcom helped us see accurate blood sugar readings without doing finger sticks every 30 minutes. Six years later, Jocelyn is a rock star — strong, brave, and giving herself injections when needed.

We share our story for one reason: hope.
