Michael Calorossi, Board President
Michael Calorossi is Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at MannKind Corporation, where he leads manufacturing and operational teams responsible for delivering innovative therapies for people living with diabetes. Throughout his career in the biopharmaceutical industry, he has been recognized as a collaborative, people-focused leader with a passion for operational excellence, team development, and advancing technologies that improve patient lives. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Michael brings a deeply personal connection to the mission of Breakthrough T1D. Having lived with diabetes for more than 20 years, he understands firsthand the daily challenges faced by individuals and families managing the disease. His personal experience has fueled a longstanding commitment to advocacy, fundraising, and supporting research that accelerates life-changing breakthroughs for the type 1 diabetes community. Michael has been actively involved with Breakthrough T1D through chapter leadership, community engagement, fundraising initiatives, and volunteer service. He is passionate about bringing together patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, corporate partners, and community volunteers to advance the organization’s mission and expand its impact throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
Josh Brier, Board Member
Joshua Brier is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in operational leadership within the financial services sector. As Chief Operating Officer at Connecticut Wealth Management, he drives strategic initiatives that enhance client experiences and operational efficiency. His prior roles include COO at GYL Financial Synergies and senior leadership positions at Bank of America, where he managed operations across thousands of locations. Joshua’s commitment to community involvement deepened following his oldest daughter’s diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes in 2021, motivating him to support related initiatives. He has served on various boards, including as past chair for Bethsaida Community of Norwich, and actively coaches youth sports, embodying his dedication to fostering positive community relationships.
