Craig W. Bond
Craig is the President & CEO of The Abbott Ball Company and Founder & CEO of CCR Products. Both are bearing manufacturers located in West Hartford. These companies produce steel balls for various industries throughout the world from automotive to aerospace to medical applications. Craig is also a long-standing member of the American Bearings Manufacturers Association, where he has served as a board member for over 20 years.
Craig and his wife Cynthia have been involved with multiple charities over the years. In May of 2015, Craig became involved with Breakthrough T1D when his oldest son, Nathaniel was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 11. With only superficial knowledge of T1D and no family history, Craig and his family were shocked, bewildered, and devastated. The family was challenged with learning as much as possible about T1D, as quickly as possible. He and Cynthia began researching ways to receive support and discovered Breakthrough T1D. They knew the best way to help their son was to become involved and help the entire T1D community. The solution for Nathaniel was to find better protocols and eventually a cure. In 2017, Craig was invited to serve on the Breakthrough T1D Board of Directors for Greater Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Chapter. His involvement deepened as he later served as President of the Chapter. Last year he passed the baton to our current President, Dr. White. Craig and his wife continue to be actively involved with Breakthrough T1D by raising awareness, funds, and inviting their friends and family to join the fight to find a cure for T1D.
