Dear Prospective Breakthrough T1D Youth Ambassador,

On behalf of Breakthrough T1D, we would like to invite you to participate in the Breakthrough T1D Youth Ambassador (YA) Program. The Breakthrough T1D Youth Ambassador Program teaches children and teens to advocate and raise awareness of type 1 diabetes (T1D) in their community. This group is made up of children and teens living with T1D, between 1st-12th grade.

Youth Ambassadors will gain confidence in sharing their T1D story, demonstrate leadership skills, and collaborate with T1D peers while advancing the mission of Breakthrough T1D through fundraising and storytelling. You’ll meet other peers with T1D, volunteer at chapter and community events, make new friends, and have FUN!

Youth Ambassadors must commit to participate for the full 2026-27 school year, be between 1st-12th grade, have had T1D for at least 1 year, have a positive outlook on life and diabetes, and have parental permission to participate as well as transportation to events. We hope you will choose to participate in the Breakthrough T1D YA Program. We need your voice, your participation, and your leadership!
