Workplace Giving FAQ

Many companies offer employee giving programs in their workplace. To find out if your company has a program and how to support Breakthrough T1D, please contact your Corporate Social Responsibility or Human Resources department.

Yes, in many cases you can designate your gift to a specific chapter or event by adding the chapter and event name in the comments section of your company’s matching gift portal when you submit your match request. Breakthrough T1D uses this information to allocate your gift accurately. You can also submit your match confirmation to [email protected] so we can apply the designation before the match arrives. Unfortunately, we are unable to designate funds from pledge-based campaigns, such as the United Way or the Combined Federal Campaign.

Yes. You’ll receive a tax acknowledgement for the portion you personally give. If you donate through a workplace giving platform like Benevity, YourCause, or CyberGrants, the vendor provides your receipt. If you give directly to Breakthrough T1D, we will issue it. Please note that employees do not receive a tax acknowledgement for the company’s matching gift, since the match is a charitable contribution made by the employer.

If your company doesn’t already have a workplace giving program and you’d like to start one, please contact us at [email protected].
