Access to affordable, comprehensive health insurance is critical for millions of Americans living with pre-existing conditions such as type 1 diabetes (T1D). The Supreme Court heard arguments November 10th on a case that could jeopardize healthcare principles for which Breakthrough T1D has advocated for many years. While a decision on this case is not expected until June 2021, Breakthrough T1D will continue to underscore to Congress and other decision makers the importance of insurance protections for people with T1D and, in the event of a negative court decision, will call for Congress to take up new legislation to address the issue.
