Event History

Founded in 1970, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) is the leading global type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and advocacy organization, we help make everyday life better while driving toward cures. Adam Singer of Savills, a Director Emeritus on Breakthrough T1D’s International Board of Directors, and Rick Kimball hosted the inaugural Real Estate Games in Washington, DC in the early 1990s. Today, the Mid-Atlantic (Washington, D.C.) games hosts over 75 top commercial Real Estate companies, over 2,500 “athletes” and hundreds of volunteers.

The Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games is a day filled with athletic competition and business rivalries, where participants compete in a series of events that require strength, speed, precision, and a sense of humor. Events include basketball, tug of war, dodgeball, track & field competition and more. Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games offer a unique event experience for the commercial real estate industry and allows for numerous distinctive marketing opportunities. In 2016 and 2018, New York City and Chicago respectively hosted their inaugural Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games. Cumulatively, the Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games has raised over $14.5 million for T1D research.

The Atlanta community’s inaugural Real Estate Games will take place on June 6th at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. Top brokers, property managers, developers, and industry leaders will compete in a series of sporting events to raise money for Breakthrough T1D’ type one diabetes research and advocacy efforts
