We are excited to have Julie Barton join us as a speaker on Jan 19th. She will explain the school nursing organization for Cobb County School District (CCSD) and a little background on their services. Her background includes being a nurse for over 40 years, working in school nursing for almost 25 years. She is a certified diabetes educator and volunteered at Camp Kudzu (Twin Lakes) for 9 summers. Her role as a consulting nurse allows her to work closely with families learning to manage diabetes in the school setting. As a certified diabetes educator, part of her job responsibility is to organize and offer the Diabetes Trained Personnel class prior to the beginning of each school year for 2 designated staff members at each CCSD school.
