Atlanta Hope Gala Ambassadors (Ages 7 – 18)
The Hope Gala is the Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter’s annual black tie fundraiser. The 2023 Hope Gala will take place on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead. The Hope Gala ambassador program takes place during the spring leading up to the Hope Gala.
Hope Gala ambassadors meet to create a painting with a local artist which is featured in the Hope Gala live auction.
Hope Gala ambassadors share their T1D stories on Breakthrough T1D social media and create videos and write notes thanking Hope Gala sponsors.
Hope Gala ambassadors can also participate by creating “T1D Looks Like Me” baskets of their favorite things for the Hope Gala silent auction. Past “T1D Looks Like Me” Basket themes have included: camping, fishing, pickleball, tennis, puzzles and games.
Hope Gala ambassadors participate in the Hope Gala as red carpet paparazzi, Fund a Cure and live auction spotters, greeters, and seaters. For more information on the Hope Gala ambassador program, contact Nicole Schroeder, nschroeder@BreakthroughT1D.org.
Atlanta One Walk Ambassadors (Ages 13 – 18)
The One Walk is your chance to show the world that together, we can conquer T1D. The One Walk uses peer to peer fundraising, engaging your community and network to raise funds for T1D research. The Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter’s The 2022 One Walk will take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at Atlantic Station.
The One Walk ambassador program is geared towards high school and middle school T1D kids and takes place during summer and fall leading up to the One Walk. One Walk ambassadors work together to engage their school communities by creating school teams for the One Walk. One Walk ambassadors meet in person and over Zoom over the summer to plan their school team strategies. Past school team fundraising strategies have included: morning announcement T1D PSAs, T1D awareness posters, selling Chick-fil-a or donuts before school, selling One Walk t-shirts and hats, out of uniform days. For more information on the One Walk ambassador program, contact Nicole Schroeder, nschroeder@BreakthroughT1D.org.
