The Anderson Family

Susan and Tim Anderson’s journey with Breakthrough T1D began when their daughter, Audrey, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at just 14 months old. Only eight months later, their lives changed again when Audrey’s twin sister, Blair, was diagnosed at 22 months. Since then, finding cures and improving lives has become a mission embraced by their entire family.
Over the years, the Andersons have made an extraordinary impact through their involvement with Breakthrough T1D. They have participated in Walks with Team Twin1D, supported newly diagnosed families, and inspired countless others by sharing their story. Susan has served as both a dedicated Board member and Board President, providing thoughtful leadership and unwavering commitment to the mission. The entire Anderson family shared their story as the Fund A Cure Family at the 2019 Hope Gala, and most recently, Audrey and Blair have proudly served as Breakthrough T1D Champions, inspiring others with their strength, resilience, and hope.
Surrounded by an incredible village of family and friends, the Andersons have witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of Breakthrough T1D-funded research. Thanks to advances in treatments and technology, Audrey and Blair continue to thrive, strengthening the family’s commitment to a future free from T1D.
We are honored to recognize Susan, Tim, Audrey, and Blair, at the 2026 Breakthrough T1D Hope Gala on November 14 at Union Station as we celebrate their unwavering dedication to creating a world without type 1 diabetes.
