Applications for the Breakthrough T1D 2019 Children’s Congress and now being accepted at cc.jdrf.org/apply-cc/. Potential Delegates must submit their application to Breakthrough T1D Advocacy no later than the end of the day (11:59PM Eastern), on Friday, November 30, 2018. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered, and there are no exceptions. All applicant decision letters will be mailed by the middle of February, 2019.
Every two years, more than 160 children with type 1 diabetes (T1D) between the ages of 4 and 17 gather in Washington, D.C., to meet face-to-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. Government. The selected Delegates represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as Breakthrough T1D’s six International Affiliates.
As participants in Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress, Delegates have a unique and empowering opportunity to help Members of Congress understand what life with T1D is like, while forming lasting bonds with other kids from around the country who live with this autoimmune disease.
