Care for the Caregiver
Ellen O’Donnell, PhD, Staff Psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, Instructor at Harvard Medical School
Dr. O’Donnell will discuss the normal stresses and strains of being a caregiver for a person with T1D as well as how to recognize caregiver burnout. She will provide practical advice for juggling the demands of caring for a person with T1D while still prioritizing the more important things.

Practical Tips for Controlling Type 1 Diabetes During and After Exercise

Learn about practical tips for reaching your fitness goals while living with T1D, including: how to reduce and eliminate hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) during exercise, how to get rid of post-exercise hypoglycemia, understanding the variables that cause changes to your glucose levels besides food and insulin, and how to effectively prepare for success.
Psychosocial Barriers to Diabetes Care and Encouraging Behavior Change

Navigating the teen years with T1D can be difficult, from independent living to the transition of care, this session will help parents and teens think ahead, plan ahead and be ready.
Programming for children and teens will be available throughout the day in the Kid Zone (ages 11 and under) and Teen Central (ages 12+).
