Breakthrough T1D is proud to recognize Kimberly and Colin Motley as the Honorees for the 44th Annual Breakthrough T1D Boston Gala—One Night, taking place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport.
Colin was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in 2002, and since that time, he and Kim have embraced both the challenges and the progress that come with this disease. Thanks to advances in technology and treatment, Colin has been able to live fully as a husband, father, and professional—while also dedicating his leadership and expertise to Breakthrough T1D at both the chapter and national levels.
Colin Motley joined Bain Capital in 2010. He is a Partner and member of the Technology and Financial & Business Services verticals on the North America Private Equity team, where he focuses on investments in infrastructure software, financial technology, and cybersecurity sectors. He has also served as a member of the recruiting and training teams.
The Motleys are deeply committed to driving progress for the entire T1D community. They have seen firsthand the difference research and innovation can make, while also understanding the daily burdens families face. Together, they are determined to help accelerate the momentum that will bring us closer to cures. On April 11, the community will come together to celebrate progress, honor the Motleys, and advance Breakthrough T1D’s mission to create a world without T1D.
