Young Adult Advocacy Council | Application Opens September 4
The Young Adult Advocacy Council (YAAC) is a group of young adults who are business professionals, community leaders, and engaged students. These up-and-comers actively support the advancement of Breakthrough T1D’s advocacy priority areas, spread awareness of T1D within their communities, and inspire youth to use their voices and share their stories with key decision makers. Through their involvement, they drive meaningful progress on our path to cures for T1D. Those interested in applying to become a member of Breakthrough T1D’s Young Adult Advocacy Council can submit an online application that will be reviewed by a member of the YAAC Leadership Team. All young adults ages 18-28 are eligible to apply, with the term officially beginning the following January. The YAAC application will reopen in September. Children’s Congress | Application Opens September 4
July 7 – 9, 2025 | Washington, D.C.
Every two years, more than 160 youth with T1D between the ages of 4 – 17 gather in Washington, D.C., to meet face-to-face with some of the top decision-makers in the U.S. Government. The selected Delegates represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as Breakthrough T1D’s five International Affiliates. As participants in Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress, Delegates have a unique and empowering opportunity to help Members of Congress understand what life with T1D is like, while forming lasting bonds with fellow youth who live with this autoimmune disease.
