About the 2026 Real Estate Games
The New York City Real Estate Games is back again for its 11th year, bringing together real estate’s top brokers, developers, law firms, engineering firms, architects, property managers, and more for a day of fun, friendly competition to raise money to support type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The Games will take place at one of the city’s most iconic athletic spaces, Chelsea Piers. Teams compete in a number of athletic events including Dodgeball, Marbles to Market, Rock Climbing, Relay Races, and more followed by an after-party with food, beverages, and music.
Real Estate Games History
Founded 37 years ago in Washington, DC by Savills Vice Chairman and Breakthrough T1D International Board Director Emeritus, Adam Singer, the Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the commercial real estate industry that raises funds to support type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Eleven years ago, in 2016, the Real Estate Games made its debut in New York City. Jim Whelan, the NYC Real Estate Games founder, along with the Event Committee have grown this event exponentially over the last eleven years, having raised nearly $2 million in support of Breakthrough T1D’s mission.
