The Breakthrough T1D Wilmington Gala is one of Wilmington’s most inspiring evenings, bringing together community leaders, families, and supporters united in the mission to cure type 1 diabetes. Guests enjoy an elegant night of dinner, auctions, and storytelling that highlights the breakthroughs their generosity makes possible.

Funds raised through the Gala directly support life‑changing research, advocacy, and community programs for people living with T1D. Whether you join us as a guest, sponsor, or volunteer, your presence helps drive progress and strengthens the growing Wilmington T1D community.

Gina McKim became involved with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) in 2015, the year her daughter was diagnosed with T1D. She has served on the Board and as a previous Gala chair, and will continue to support Breakthrough T1D in the search for a cure. She and her husband Herb have 3 daughters and reside in Wilmington.
