About

JOIN US at the Breakthrough T1D Community Summit on February 21, 2026, in Rosemont! We welcome your participation as an adult, caregiver, parent attendee, teen helper, nurse or kid camper. This Summit unites the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community to share, learn, engage, and connect with other families in Illinois.

At the Summit, you will:

  • Discover research advancements.
  • Engage in discussions with experts.
  • Network with others living with T1D.
  • Visit a Vendor Village.
  • Bring your stuffies to the doctor at our Rufus Clinic.

The educational sessions will focus on T1D care and management, tailored to various audiences. Kids will enjoy camp programming hosted by Camp Type 1 while parents, caregivers, grandparents, and friends attend sessions and have a dedicated morning for themselves. Campers will participate in activities and special sessions designed just for them, and our teens will serve as role models for the younger attendees. All of these opportunities are incredible ways to lead, connect, and grow.

New this year (Teen Session): In addition to the Counselor opportunities for teens we are launching a Leadership in Training program, designed especially for our teen volunteers and teen Summit attendees. It’s a chance for this group to deepen leadership skills, create bonds with each other and understand how strong they are living with T1D.

We look forward to seeing you in February 2026!
