Breakthrough T1D Des Moines Hope Gala 2026

We are the Moran Family – Dan, Shay, Carter, and Kemper!

We are honored to be selected as the Fund A Cure Family for this year’s Breakthrough T1D Hope Gala (formerly JDRF). This recognition is incredibly meaningful to us, especially given our personal connection to the cause.

In April 2025, our daughter Kemper was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, our family has experienced firsthand both the daily challenges of this disease and the extraordinary impact of the research, advocacy, and support led by Breakthrough T1D. As the leading global organization dedicated to T1D, it plays a critical role in advancing life-changing treatments and driving toward a cure.

This year, Kemper also became a Youth Ambassador for Breakthrough T1D. In this role, she has taken on the responsibility of representing others living with T1D – raising awareness, volunteering her time, and advocating for continued progress in research and care. We are incredibly proud of her courage and commitment.
