About Jonah
My world changed on April 30, 2024, when I found out I have T1D. I’ll be honest – it’s been a really challenging (almost) two years for me, my mom and dad, my brother and entire family. But also, if you know me, you know that when I set my mind to something, I don’t give up. This T1D thing is definitely a challenge, but I’ve been doing my best to face it head-on.
This is my second year being a Dream Gala Youth Ambassador, and my third time being an Ambassador for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF). They’re the main people out there funding research and helping people with T1D. This organization has been very important to me and my family since I got diagnosed.
For those who don’t know, T1D is an autoimmune disease that can happen to anyone, kids or adults, and it has nothing to do with what you eat or how you live. Dealing with T1D is a 24/7, 365 job. Even when you’re doing everything right, your blood sugar can still go way too high or way too low, which can be really dangerous.
Breakthrough T1D has been behind almost every big step forward in T1D research, and they’re working hard to find cures and better ways to treat it. They also do a lot to help people live better with T1D every day, from developing new treatments to supporting the T1D community.
By donating to my Breakthrough T1D Fund A Cure page, you’re helping to find a cure, prevent T1D, make treatments better, and make sure everyone around the world can get the care they need.
I know I have a lifelong journey ahead of me until a cure is found, but I’m so grateful for my amazing doctors, nurses, my family, and all my awesome friends. Thank you for everything!
Please join me and my family in supporting everyone living with T1D!
Love,
Jonah
