Stephanie Drew “Good Enough Diabetes: Health without Perfectionism”
Description: In this presentation, therapist Stephanie Drew, LCSW will address the emotional and mental health challenges of living with T1D for individuals and their families. Drawing from evidence-based therapeutic principles, the presentation will focus on moving away from black-and-white thinking in blood sugar management, promoting open communication, and fostering a balanced approach to health that prioritizes mental well-being alongside physical health. Attendees will gain practical strategies to support themselves and their loved ones on the journey towards embracing a more holistic view of health.
Bio: Stephanie Drew, LCSW is a therapist dedicated to the mental and emotional well-being of individuals and families affected by Type 1 diabetes. As someone who lives with T1D, she combines her clinical expertise with personal experience to provide compassionate support. In her private practice, Stephanie works with adults and teens with T1D, as well as parents and families facing diabetes-related stress and burnout. Utilizing evidence-based approaches, she helps clients develop sustainable coping skills, enhance communication, and cultivate a more hopeful outlook on their journey with diabetes.
