  • Ask the Therapist (Recurring Monthly)

    This event repeats the first Tuesday of every month from 8:00 - 9:00 am Pacific Time. Are you a parent/caretaker of a child with type 1 diabetes (T1D), hoping to lower your family’s stress around diabetes and diabetes management? Hop onto our “Ask the Therapist” session with JoAnne Robb, MFT, mother of three children – two of whom live with T1D. JoAnne is a psychotherapist who also runs a coaching group for T1D parents and caretakers called Sweet Talk. Whether you are looking to gain perspective on your child’s diagnosis, get some thoughts on particular issues that you’re worrying about, or hear about how your challenges are similar to those of other parents with T1D kids, JoAnne will be available to answer your questions. Meet the community while you talk about how to stay balanced with diabetes in your life. Stay on for a full hour of learning, or just jump on for a short time. We look forward to seeing you there! This free event is for families living with T1D.

  • T1D Teen Connect (Recurring Monthly)

    Do you have a teenager living with type 1 diabetes? The Young Leadership Committee (a Breakthrough T1D group of young adults living with T1D) will be hosting a free virtual Zoom session for T1D Teens! This will be a safe place for teens to speak freely with young adults about the challenges and triumphs of living with T1D. These sessions will help T1D teens feel more confident about growing up with T1D. We hope your T1D teen can join us! (Please note: this session is specifically for teens ages 13 - 19. We ask that young children and parents refrain from joining this call).

Each session is hosted by one of our amazing and informative endos who are available to answer your many questions. Dr. Cengiz is Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Pediatric Diabetes Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital at both the San Francisco and Oakland pediatric diabetes clinics. Dr. Marina Basina is Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center’s Division of Endocrinology, Gerontology and Metabolism Whether you have a question on type 1 diabetes (T1D) technology, carb counting, or how to make sense of your CGM data, Dr. Cengiz and Dr. Basina are available to help answer your questions. Meet the T1D community while you learn about the latest in research, technology, and resources. Stay on for a full hour of learning, or just jump on for a short time.
