Since their daughter, Lola, was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 8, Jeff and Joy Weber have established themselves as fundraising leaders for the Michigan and Northern Ohio Breakthrough T1D Chapter. Jeff is a past chapter board president and former co-chair of the Fly Away Golf program. Both Jeff and Joy are top 5 walk fundraisers in Detroit and Joy has competed in marathons on behalf of Breakthrough T1D.

Marvin Daitch was a pivotal member of the Michigan Breakthrough T1D Chapter. A past board president and member of the Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors, Marvin served as a chair and leader in several local initiatives–including the Fly Away Golf program and Detroit Promise Ball. Marvin’s pursuit of cures has compelled countless others to give their time, talents, and resources. In his presence, it was impossible not to be a T1D ally. Marvin embodied the spirt of Fund-A-Cure, and it is hard to imagine the Detroit gala without him egging on live auction bidders and Fund-A-Cure donors. This year the chapter will pay tribute to his legacy of service to the T1D community.

6:00 P.M. – Guest Check-in

Guest check-in will be located in the Grand Hall.  Valet parking is located in front of the Rose Garden. If you did not pre register your preferred method of payment prior to May 2nd you will be available to at check in.

6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. – Hosted Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail reception. While socializing, bid on the perfect auction packages before the doors open to reveal a night full of philanthropic giving.

7:30 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Marvin Daitch Tribute, Dinner, Fund A Cure, Live Auction & Afterglow

As we pay tribute to this year’s honoree, guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner and the ever-popular live auction culminating with Fund A Cure in the South Concourse.  The afterglow with nightcaps and entertainment will be in the Grand Hall.

Fund A Cure provides an opportunity for all guests to support Breakthrough T1D funded research. The auctioneer will call out giving levels from $50,000 to $100. Guests simply raise their bid paddle at the giving level they are most comfortable with and their 100% tax-deductible contribution will drive critical Breakthrough T1D research priorities.
