Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games: 36 Years of Sporting Excellence and Fundraising for the Fight against T1D

Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Mid-Atlantic Chapter is thrilled to announce that the 36th annual Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games — presented by HITT Contracting — will take place on June 5, 2025, at The St. James in Springfield, VA. The 2024 event revealed Breakthrough T1D’s new name in incredible fashion with commercial real estate professionals, industry leaders, and community supporters celebrating our mission and purpose of driving towards curing type 1 diabetes while helping to make everyday life better for the people who face it. In total 56 sponsors, 2,120 participants and more than 400 supporters and spectators came together to demonstrate their passion for finding a cure for T1D.  The day of spirited competition generated over $600,000 in support for Breakthrough T1D.

It is with great pride that we announce Andy Eichberg, Managing Director of Stream Realty Partners, as the Honorary Chair for the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games. Andy has more than 25 years of experience in the Washington, D.C. commercial real estate industry, with leadership roles in brokerage, and leasing, development, acquisition and asset management for institutional and local owners of commercial real estate in Washington, DC. He is also actively involved in many charitable organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region including the James L. Eichberg Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of the National Capital Area, and, of course, the Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

As a long-time supporter and participant, Andy is eager to serve as the Honorary Chair of the 2025 Games and brings both a competitive spirit and passion for teamwork to his work on and off the field.

“The Real Estate Games is the epitome of what makes the Washington, DC real estate community so unique and amazing. Each year, our industry comes together – whether through shifting markets, global challenges, or unforeseen obstacles – to demonstrate a deep sense of camaraderie and a sustained commitment to the cause. It is with that in mind that I am thrilled to join the team as the 2025 Real Estate Games Honorary Chair. As we launch our 36th year, I am eager to see how we continue to push the boundaries of both competition and philanthropy, and I can’t wait to join you all this June!”

The entire Mid-Atlantic Chapter is thrilled to welcome Andy into this role as he merges his years of experience in the commercial real estate industry alongside his passion for Breakthrough T1D’s mission. Jaclyn Toll, the Executive Director of the Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic Chapter, shared that “Andy’s leadership, enthusiasm for the games, and his commitment to the commercial real estate community brings new energy to the Honorary Chair position.” Adam Singer, founder of the Real Estate Games and Vice Chairman of Savills, added, “I am incredibly proud to have my longtime friend, Andy, serve as Honorary Chair for the 2025 Games. He is an industry leader with a proven track record of excellence and someone who is passionate about making a difference. His involvement will help elevate this event and further our mission to raise awareness and funds for T1D research.”

Breakthrough T1D Real Estate Games is an annual event sponsored by the DC area commercial real estate community to benefit the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. The Games were founded by Adam Singer, Vice Chairman of Savills and Director Emeritus of the Breakthrough T1D International Board, in 1990 and has evolved into one of the top industry events of the year. The Real Estate Games grew to include Breakthrough T1D’s New York City and Chicago chapters in 2017. Over the past 35 years, the commercial real estate industry has joined together to raise $14 million in funds for life-changing T1D research.
