Breakthrough T1D Community Summit – Richmond

About

The Breakthrough T1D Community Summit is an educational and networking opportunity for all those impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year, the Breakthrough T1D Community Summit will bring our community together to learn from T1D experts, hear about the latest breakthroughs in T1D research, meet vendor exhibitors, connect with others impacted by T1D, and more.

Whether you are family who is dealing with a new diagnosis, an adult who has lived with T1D for many years, a grandparent or caregiver, or a diabetes health care professional, there will be something for you! Admission is free, but advance registration is required.

Our Teen Program is open to teens with T1D and their siblings in grades 8-12. Space is limited so please register early. Parents must remain on-site at the Summit as they will be contacted for diabetes management decisions as needed.

While we are not hosting a Youth Program this year, children are welcome to attend with their families. Please register children as standard attendees.

10:00 AM - Check-In Opens

Advanced registration is required for all attendees.

10:00 AM - T1D Resource Vendor Hall (open throughout event)

10:30 - 11:20 AM - Welcome and Mission Keynote Presentation

The Mission Keynote will be presented by Breakthrough T1D volunteer leader, Pat McFeeley!

10:30 AM - 12:15 PM - Teen Program

Our Teen Program is open to those with T1D and siblings in grades 8-12. Activities will include small group discussion, games, and guest speakers. Parents/caregivers must remain on-site at the Summit as they will be contacted for diabetes management decisions as needed.

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Breakout Sessions

Option 1: Finetuning T1D as an Adult Panel

Option 2: Tackling T1D as a Family Panel

12:30 - 1:45 PM - Networking Lunch and Guest Speaker
