Ben’s Friends Golf Classic 2022

Chesapeake Community Advisors (CCA) is honored to support the legacy of Ben Etheridge. Ben passed away unexpectedly of a cardiac event on June 30, 2018 while cycling. Ben’s philanthropy was enormously important to him. With an unwavering commitment to finding a cure for juvenile diabetes, Ben became the leading fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Maryland. Ben participated in the Breakthrough T1D’s Ride for a Cure, a 100-mile bike ride, for 10 years and proudly wore the green jersey designating him as the largest fundraiser of the ride during several of those years.

In 2009, Ben hosted the 1st Annual CCA Breakthrough T1D Golf event. Since Ben’s passing, CCA has hosted the event which brings together friends and affordable housing professionals from all over the country. To date, we have raised over $1 Million. Our goal is to raise an additional $100,000 in 2022.

One of the most unique features of this event is that your registration fee goes directly to Breakthrough T1D. This year’s Golf Outing will be held at Mountain Branch Golf Club on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Check in begins at 8:00am. Shotgun Start will start at 9:00am.
