New to T1D or Breakthrough T1D? Join us to connect, learn and engage! You’ll hear from local volunteers about the power of the T1D community and how you can impact Breakthrough T1D’s mission through the Breakthrough T1D One Walk. Our special guest is Sapna Bhambhani, a field medical scientist with Provention Bio and a T1D mom and volunteer, who will share information about having family members screened for T1D autoantibodies and the screening tools currently available. After the program, we invite you to join a breakout room to chat more about T1D screening & research, the One Walk program, or newly diagnosed resources. Guest Speaker: Sapna Bhambhani, PharmD, BCPPS

Sapna Bhambhani received her Bachelors and Doctorate degrees in Pharmacy from Rutgers, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy in New Jersey. She specialized in pediatrics and began her career as a pediatric clinical pharmacist working at various children’s hospitals in the New York and New Jersey area, most recently Saint Peter’s University Hospital where she worked for the past nine years, before joining Provention Bio. Sapna lives in Westfield, New Jersey with her husband, Tom, and daughter, Sarina (13), and loves going to the beach, reading, listening to music, spending time with family and friends and especially watching her daughter play ice hockey. Since her daughter was diagnosed with T1D at age 8, Sapna has become a passionate advocate for people living with T1D and currently serves in several volunteer leadership roles at the New Jersey Metro and Rockland County chapter including Advocacy Team Chair, Board Member, and lead volunteer on the Medical Advisory Committee. Sapna and her family have participated in five One Walks, raising over $20,000. Her passion and dedication to improving the lives of those with T1D is what brings her to Provention Bio and what drives her to volunteer at Breakthrough T1D.
