Off to College and the Teen Transition Years

Children’s National Health System and Breakthrough T1D invite high school students living with type 1 diabetes and their caregivers to learn about the many facets of the “teen transition years,” including going off to college and transitioning from pediatric to adult diabetes care. Young adults who are currently in college or preparing for adult diabetes care may also find this program valuable.

Speakers from Children’s National include: Dr. Fran Cogen, Director of the Child Adolescent Diabetes Program; Celia Henderson, Diabetes Nurse Educator; and members of the nursing, psychology, nutrition, and social work teams. We will also have a panel of young adults with type 1 diabetes to share experiences and answer questions.
