About Adie & Aly

Adie and Aly are 9 year old identical twins that are both type one diabetic. They were diagnosed exactly 6 weeks apart. Aly was the first at only 10.5 months and then Adie 3 days before their first birthday. This is a lifelong autoimmune disease where their body was triggered to attack the beta cells in their pancreas and can no longer produce insulin on its own. They depend on being given insulin for anything they eat because their bodies no longer make insulin and many complications will come if they don’t. 

Having each other through this journey is a blessing in disguise as they have someone that knows exactly how they are feeling and what they’ve been through. There’s still many ups and downs because they are still so young but they do so well with all of it. Both wear a continuous glucose monitor that sends their blood sugar readings via Bluetooth and an insulin pump which helps momma’s sanity controlling both.
