How to Power a Volunteer-Powered Organization
in General, Volunteers
Breakthrough T1D was founded by a group of moms hoping to find ways to give back to their type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. Now, more than 50 years later, Breakthrough T1D is proud to call itself a volunteer-powered organization.
National Volunteer Week (NVW) was established to celebrate our outstanding volunteer partners who help bring us closer to cures every single day. During NVW and beyond, there are so many ways to join the movement that will turn Type One into Type None…

The Advocates in Action Council (AAC) is a group of young adults, ages 18 through 26, committed to taking on leadership roles within Breakthrough T1D’s Advocacy efforts. Members of the AAC support initiatives in their local communities. Learn more about the application opening in September here!
Participate in a clinical trial!
For a T1D treatment, drug, or device to make it safely into the hands of those who need it, clinical trials are the first crucial step. The contribution of human participants is critical to advancing research now and into the future. Get matched to a clinical trial in just 60 seconds here!
