Attendees can begin checking in at 8:00 a.m. Use this time to visit the vendor fair to learn more about our industry partners and Breakthrough T1D’s programs.
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. | Kids Camp & Teen Time Check-in
Parents and caregivers with children participating in Kids Camp or Teen Time will check in to their program beginning at 8:30 a.m.
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. | Welcome & Keynote
Make sure you’re seated in the main auditorium to hear a special welcome message from Laura Rosseisen, Breakthrough T1D Regional Director.
Our keynote, “From Research Innovation to Regulatory Approval: Bringing Breakthrough Therapies Home,“ will be presented by Stephen Karpen, PharmD, Breakthrough T1D’s Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs.

11:50 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Closing Remarks

We are excited to be hosting Kids Camp and Teen Time as part of Community Summit this year! Children and teens are welcome to join our youth and teen programming, while parents and caregivers sit in on keynote and breakout sessions.
Kids Camp is for youth in grades kindergarten through 7th.
Teen Time is for teens in grades 8th through 12th.
These programs will host all children living with T1D, as well as their siblings and friends. Children will be broken into smaller groups and assigned volunteers to lead fun and engaging activities, as well as to support your child(ren) as needed.
Parents and caregivers, we are focused on offering a safe and secure environment, but we need your help with a few things:
- You must register your child(ren) for Kids Camp or Teen Time using one of the following ticket types:
- YOUTH TICKET, for children in grades kindergarten through 7th,
- OR
- TEEN TICKET, for children in grades 8th through 12th.
- Parents/guardians/caregivers are not permitted to leave the premises without their child(ren).
- Parents/guardians/caregivers will be contacted by text or call if your child needs help with their T1D management during the program.
- You must register your child(ren) for Kids Camp or Teen Time using one of the following ticket types:

About This Event
Colorado individuals and families impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D) are invited to a free Community Summit, hosted by the Breakthrough T1D Mountain West Chapter!
Join us on the morning of Saturday, May 31, where we will offer opportunities to learn more about who Breakthrough T1D is and how we serve the greater T1D community. You’ll also hear more about the broader experiences of life with T1D from those who get it. Local experts and leaders in the T1D community will be hosting breakout sessions focusing on different topics affecting all ages and stages of T1D. No matter if you’ve lived with T1D for 10 minutes or 10 years, Community Summit is the perfect time to meet and mingle with the Colorado Breakthrough T1D community.
Please reserve a spot for each individual guest who will be attending using the appropriate ticket type.
Light breakfast and refreshments, including gluten-free options, will be available.
