Community Summit is a night filled with education, inspiration and connection as we gather together to learn about life with T1D.
Utah individuals and families impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D) are invited to a free Community Summit, hosted by the Breakthrough T1D Mountain West Chapter!
Join us on the evening of Thursday, February 20, where we will offer opportunities to learn more about who Breakthrough T1D is and how we serve the greater T1D community. You’ll also hear more about the broader experiences of life with T1D from those who get it. Community Summit will bring our community together to learn from the T1D experts and hear about the latest breakthroughs in T1D research. No matter if you’ve lived with T1D for 10 minutes or 10 years, Community Summit is the perfect time to meet and mingle with the Utah Breakthrough T1D community.
Please reserve a spot for each individual guest who will be attending using the appropriate ticket type. While there will be no official childcare, kids and families are welcome!
Snacks and beverages, including gluten-free options, will be available.

Megaplex Theatres is located inside Jordan Commons, located at 9335 State St in Sandy, UT.
There is ample surface lot and garage parking located at Jordan Commons attendees can utilize for free.
Please enter through the doors located on the south side of Jordan Commons, at the corner of State St and 9400 S.

Attendees can begin checking in at 5:30pm.
5:30pm – 6:15pm | Vendor Fair
For those who choose to arrive early, take some time to visit the vendor fair to learn more about Breakthrough T1D’s various programs as well as our industry partners and partner organizations.
6:15pm – 6:30pm | Opening Remarks & Mission Moment
Make sure you’re seated as we welcome you with a special Breakthrough T1D mission moment.
6:30pm – 7:30pm | Keynote Presentation: T1D Research Breakthroughs: Now and On the Horizon
Hear from keynote speaker, Chris German, Utah Board Member and Mission Information Volunteer.
He’ll be presenting on the exciting discoveries that Breakthrough T1D-funded researchers have uncovered in the past year and what future breakthroughs the broader T1D community has to look forward to.
Our keynote presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
7:30pm-7:45pm | Closing Remarks
Wrap up your evening with our closing message.
