I am deeply honored to serve as this year’s Honoree at the Breakthrough T1D Hope Gala, to be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. This evening is more than a celebration. It is a powerful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the millions of children, adults, and families affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D).

As many of you know, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) leads the way in funding innovative research and advocating for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for T1D. Companion Systems and my family began supporting this effort 21 years ago, when I was first met a remarkable young woman, who was just 5 years old at that time. She bravely shared what life with T1D looked like—day in and day out—and the profound impact Breakthrough T1D was having in accelerating progress toward cures. That conversation left an indelible mark. From that day, I was committed to supporting the incredible work of this organization. Over the past two decades, I have witnessed extraordinary advancements, made possible in large part by the generosity of our community—and by events like the Hope Gala. This is our area’s largest and most impactful Breakthrough T1D fundraising event of the year, and this year, I have the privilege of helping carry this mission forward.
