Riding on Insulin Camp at Breckenridge

Registration is officially open for Riding On Insulin’s Breckenridge Ski/Snowboard camp!
Breckenridge Mountain Resort
Get ready to shred down the mountain and not let type 1 diabetes stop you! Riding On Insulin camps are an awesome place to meet other kids and teens like you. Our team of on-snow coaches — comprised of snowboarders and skiers living with type 1 diabetes — will take you on the ride of your life, showing you how to manage your diabetes on the mountain when altitude, humidity and climate all play a role. Riding On Insulin’s annual Colorado camp will take place on Saturday December 17, 2016 at Breckenridge Mountain Resort.
Riding On Insulin camps are open to first timers, intermediate and advanced riders ages 7-17. The day is spent on the mountain, skiing or snowboarding in groups with kids of the same ability level as you, coaches who have type 1 diabetes, and medical staff to assist in managing your diabetes! The program is a family-friendly event where siblings can sign up to! Parents are encouraged to let go, and allow the kids take to the slopes with our team while we provide a parent networking session in the morning, as well as discounted lift tickets for those moms and dads who would rather hit the slopes. After camp, ROI’s inspirational coaches living with T1D will give a presentation about their stories with diabetes. GET THE DETAILS AT: https://www.ridingoninsulin.org/colorado.html and sign up here: Riding On Insulin Colorado Scholarships are available; visit https://RidingOnInsulin.org/Scholarships for details on applying.
Riding On Insulin is accepting applications for volunteers 18+ for this event—experience on snow is not always necessary, but encouraged. We take on-snow coaches with type 1 diabetes (or someone with a connection to type 1 diabetes), on-snow medical volunteers (nurses, diabetes educators, doctors, etc. that enjoy skiing and snowboarding), and indoor medical volunteers (no skiing or snowboarding experience needed). If you, or someone you know is interested in applying to volunteer, visit this link for all the information: https://ridingoninsulin.org/volunteer.
