We are grateful to have devoted volunteers who work year round to turn Type One into Type None. We would like to feature our local #EverydayHeroes. It’s an honor to recognize individuals, families and businesses that go above and beyond to serve our local T1D community. Today we highlight, Drew Antonio.

Drew is a “Jack of all trades” – always finding new and different ways to serve and impact our mission. We were first introduced to Drew as a Walk day volunteer, since then his dedication to Breakthrough T1D has evolved into something much bigger as he now serves on the Corporate Development Committee and the Board of Directors.

Drew’s most recent commitment is serving as the President of the Young Leadership Committee (YLC). Drew has brought together young professionals who are looking to not only serve the community, but help spread awareness and raise funds for T1D. Under Drew’s leadership, YLC events include networking happy hours, The Love Run, The Extra Mile (a One Walk after party to be held in the new Capitol District), and partnering with Z92 for the Todd-N-Tyler Golf Scramble.

“It’s dedicated volunteers like Drew that make working at Breakthrough T1D such a pleasure. He continually follows through on his commitments, has new and innovative ideas, and always volunteers with a smile!” said the Breakthrough T1D Staff. Thank you, Drew!
