Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors

Doug Lowenstein's connection to Breakthrough T1D started in 2001 when his daughter, Emma, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Doug’s career has taken him through journalism, communications, working on Capitol Hill and founding and running industry trade associations for the video game and the private equity industry. He currently is founding partner in Convergency, a consulting practice focused on nonprofit strategy and health, wellness, and nutrition initiatives.

In 2011, Doug served as a consultant to Breakthrough T1D on a range of projects including leading an 18-month strategic planning process, developing new marketing and communications materials and messages, and leading legislative and regulatory campaigns. He currently serves on the Breakthrough T1D International Board of Directors, the Research Committee, and the Advocacy Committee.
