Breakthrough T1D Las Vegas Gala 2027

Twenty-five years ago, Shawn and Amber Danoski founded DC Building Group with a shared passion for construction and a deep commitment to Las Vegas. With Shawn’s family rooted in the valley since the 1960s and Amber calling Las Vegas home since the 1990s, they set out to build more than a successful company. They wanted to create an organization that would contribute to the growth, strength, and well-being of the community they call home.

Married in August 2000, Shawn and Amber are the proud parents of two sons, Erik, 23, and Alex, 21. Their faith has remained the foundation of their marriage, family, business, and service to others.

As DC Building Group grew, Shawn and Amber became increasingly intentional about using their resources, relationships, and influence to make a meaningful difference. Amber serves as the company’s Director of Philanthropy, leading employee volunteer efforts, charitable partnerships, corporate giving, and personal philanthropy. Their goal is not simply to give, but to engage others, encourage service, and create lasting impact throughout Southern Nevada.

Today, they lead one of Las Vegas’ most respected builders serving nonprofit and faith-based organizations. Their work reflects a shared belief that business success carries a responsibility to support others and strengthen the community. As they approach their 26th wedding anniversary, faith in God remains their true north and the guiding compass of their journey together.

Although Shawn and Amber do not have a direct personal connection to type 1 diabetes, they are inspired by the courage and hope of those living with the disease. They are proud to be honored at the 2027 Breakthrough T1D Hope Gala and invite the community to join them to “Saddle Up For A Cure” to bring us closer to a world without type 1 diabetes.

Meet Marisa, a vibrant powerhouse who’s been lighting up Las Vegas for the past 21 years! Originally from the sun-kissed shores of Southern California, Marisa found her way to the desert after graduating from Arizona State University, where her fiery spirit took root. She launched her career as a marketing maven and radio personality, captivating audiences with stints at Harrah’s Entertainment, Clear Channel Radio, and CBS Radio.

Following in her parents’ footsteps, Marisa transitioned seamlessly into real estate, where she has built a thriving career as a top-performing Realtor®, leader, and advocate. Beyond mastering the art of the deal, Marisa uses her platform to give back to the community she now proudly calls home. She’s passionately dedicated her time to numerous charitable causes, including The Justin Foundation, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, The Ronald McDonald House, The Positively Kids Foundation, and, most recently, raising awareness and funds for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) with a strong passion for finding a cure—a cause close to her heart as a T1D mom.

When she’s not making an impact professionally or in the community, Marisa immerses herself in the wonders of the Vegas Valley with her two kiddos and her partner-in-crime, Steve. Whether it’s outdoor adventures, live music, or championing youth education, Marisa lives her life with purpose, passion, and a deep love for connection and exploration. For Marisa, helping others isn’t just a career—it’s a way of life.
