Half Moon Bay Coastline Hike for T1D Adults

About

Our Breakthrough T1D Hike Don’t Spike event for adults on Sunday, November 1 is a scenic loop along (not around) San Leandro Reservoir.  The first half of this 7-mile, 1000-foot ascent hike follows the East side of the reservoir along a rolling, partly shaded, and wide path  (AllTrails map link, Park map link).   Along with views of the water, we’ll pass a horse stable and may see turkey vultures, snakes, cows, deer, and rabbits.  There is also a highly visible section of a 100-million-year-old seafloor turned 90 degrees by the forces of the Hayward and Calaveras Faults.  After we break at the halfway point, there will be two options; complete the loop, which includes hiking up a steep half-mile incline, or head back along the rolling reservoir route.  Of course, we’ll have plenty of time during this 3.5-4-hour hike to exchange experiences, opinions, and questions about life with T1D.

After the hike, if you’re available please join us at Canyon Club Brewery in Moraga for a late lunch to celebrate 25 fabulous Hike Don’t Spike hikes!
