Fund A Cure Family
The Hobbs Family – Michael, Jennifer, Cole, Savannah, and Jessup Hobbs
For the Hobbs Family, Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is more than just a part of life; it’s a deeply personal journey marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering commitment to creating a brighter future. Michael and his son Cole both live with T1D, and their story spans generations, as Michael’s father also faces the challenges of this disease. At the heart of their family is Jennifer, who embodies what it means to be an advocate and supporter. As a wife, mother, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer’s dedication to the T1D community has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her leadership over the years with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) has been a source of hope and inspiration for so many. The Hobbs Family first joined this mission in 2007 at their inaugural gala. Over the past 17 years, they have attended every Walk and nearly every Gala. They have also contributed countless hours to committees, boards, clinical trials, and advocacy efforts. Jennifer has served on Wilmington’s Breakthrough T1D Board of Directors for many years, including six years as President from 2019 to 2024. Her tireless work, fueled by her personal connection to T1D, reflects her belief in a future without Type 1 Diabetes. As Cole and Savannah prepare to welcome their first child, they have hope that we will find a cure soon, so another generation in their family isn’t faced with the challenges of T1D.
