It’s officially HYPE WEEK because we are HYPED to see you this Sunday, October 13 at California’s Great America. 

To thank you for all your efforts leading up to the Breakthrough T1D Walk, NorCal, Silicon Valley, we’re offering some great rewards during Hype Week, starting today October 7 through Friday, October 11.  

 Every day, we will draw a winner. Take on one or all of the following challenges by 11:59pm each day, and the next morning we’ll notify the winner so they can choose their reward! 

Challenge #1 – Monday, October 7 – Fundraise! 

Raise $100 to earn a ticket to California’s Great America* to use on Walk Day! We will choose one lucky participant who has reached this milestone by 11:59pm tonight 10/7 to choose an additional reward from the list below!   

 *Tickets will be emailed to walkers on Friday, October 11. Look out for an email from Great America. 

Challenge #2 – Tuesday, October 8 – Download the Breakthrough T1D Walk App! 

Boost your fundraising with the new Breakthrough T1D Walk app, available on Apple App Store and Google Play. Download the app by 11:59pm on 10/8 and we’ll choose a winner! 

Challenge #3 – Wednesday, October 9 – Recruit! 

Recruit people to join your Walk Team! You’ll receive an entry for every new member who joins your team between 12:00AM and 11:59PM on 10/9. One team will be chosen to win! 

Challenge #4 – Thursday, October 10 – Fundraise with Facebook! 

Participants who use Facebook Fundraisers raise five times more on average. Connect your fundraiser to Facebook through your Walk Participant Center, by 11:59pm on 10/10, and you’ll be entered to win! 

Challenge #5 – Friday, October 11 – Earn your V1P Club status! 

All participants who raise $500 or more earn V1P Club status, which earns you a Breakthrough T1D Walk V1P Crossbody Bag. Raise $500 by 11:59pm on 10/11 and you’ll be entered to win one of the additional prizes below! 

Winners of the above challenges will get to choose from the following rewards, based on availability: 

• Special appearance by Rufus the Bear with Diabetes at your upcoming birthday, diaversary, or other type of party!  
• Lead the T1D Champion Parade with Rufus on Walk Day 
• 2 Tickets to Breakthrough T1D Night at a Golden State Warriors game in 2025 – date TBA 
• VIP Experience at a San Jose Sharks match in 2024-2025 season and an opportunity to meet T1D player Luke Kunin (exclusive to a youth with T1D and their guests) 
• VIP Parking on Walk Day at Great America 
• 5 Extra Tickets to Great America on Walk Day 
• Top Golf San Jose – one ½ hr Golf Lesson 
• $100 for the Breakthrough T1D Store – stock up on the newest Breakthrough T1D merch!

Winners will be contacted by a Breakthrough T1D staff member the day after the challenge.
