Kim Silveria & Marshalls Employee

At Breakthrough T1D, we value our partnerships with the corporate community.  We cannot achieve a cure for T1D without the collaboration of a wide array of businesses and their associates, customers, and vendors. Our relationship with corporate partners is essential in establishing visible public messages and maintaining reliable funding. Since 1994, Marshalls has contributed significant public and financial resources to Breakthrough T1D’s research objectives.  Through numerous advocacy events and fundraisers, they have consistently demonstrated their support in our journey to find a cure and better treatments for T1D.

Since 1994, Marshalls has donated over $32 million to Breakthrough T1D and its associated research, including significant efforts at the local level. Regionally, the Marshall stores in the Northern California Inland chapter territory have raised over $54,000 annually.  One particularly successful effort has been their Paper Sneaker Sales Campaign.  During the campaign, employees invite customers to add a donation to Breakthrough T1D at checkout.

Beyond this yearly event, Marshalls promotes awareness by strongly encouraging employees to volunteer with their local Breakthrough T1D chapters.  The company also provides valuable T1D information to workers and customers alike at their sales counters or employee workrooms. In addition, Marshalls organizes a national team for the Breakthrough T1D One Walk, joining thousands of participants across the country in advancing the future of diabetes research.

These various fundraising opportunities are a point of pride for the company’s employees and associates, who rally behind their annual campaigns and seize opportunities for involvement. Accordingly, many Breakthrough T1D families visit local Marshalls stores to express gratitude for the enthusiastic support they provide. One of the most rewarding parts of this partnership is the mutual appreciation that’s developed between Marshalls employees and Breakthrough T1D volunteers!

Our corporate sponsors make truly vital contributions to our progress in research and advocacy, bringing us one step closer to a cure. We thank Marshalls for their continued outreach, funding, and partnership!
