Breakthrough T1D Northern California Tee to Table 2026

When Millie Reiter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 15 in 2022, she spent most of her third week of freshman year in the hospital. After learning how to manage the autoimmune disease, she convinced her doctors to let her go home in time for the first football game of the season, where she joined her varsity cheer team on the field. Now thriving as a high school senior, Millie serves in student government as her school’s first-ever female athletic commissioner, she frequently advocates for student well-being, and she is a member of the Superintendent’s Student Planning Committee.

Soon after her diagnosis, Millie’s family connected with Breakthrough T1D, the leading global organization advancing T1D research and advocacy. They are active in the organization’s Walk program and social events, and Millie serves as a Youth Ambassador, helping to raise awareness and funds for T1D research.

Millie will take the stage as the Fund A Cure speaker at the upcoming Breakthrough T1D Tee to Table event at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, on May 8, 2026.

Patty Sue Mozart has been a dedicated Breakthrough T1D volunteer for nearly 20 years, inspired by her son Forrest’s diagnosis with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 15. She previously served on the Spring Fling committee, which later evolved into the Tee to Table event, and she went on to chair Tee to Table for six years. Through her leadership, and the help of the committee, they transformed Tee To Table into the top golf/gala event in the organization, raising over $1.6 million annually for T1D research.  She continues to be an active member of the event committee today. In 2024, she also participated in the Breakthrough T1D Amelia Island Ride. Patty Sue is the proud mother of three adult children: Justin, Ashley, and Forrest, and she is a grandmother to three. We are thrilled to honor her with the 2026 Breakthrough T1D Tee to Table Impact Award.
