Join us for an upcoming Breakthrough T1D Ladies Brunch sponsored by AdventHealth!
This special event is open to women with a connection to type 1 diabetes and will be a meaningful opportunity to connect, learn, and enjoy brunch together! Whether you live with type 1 diabetes or have a child with type 1 diabetes you are welcome to join us. The subject matter of the presentation will be pertinent to all women and you are welcome to bring a friend with you!
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Lauren M. Sparks, a Senior Investigator with AdventHealth’s Translational Research Institute. Dr. Sparks pursues investigations on the topics of exercise response variation. Dr. Sparks is interested in understanding why some individuals do not respond favorably to exercise as a means of improving their metabolism and related co-morbidities. Dr. Sparks will cover type 1 diabetes-related cardiovascular disease in women and the current landscape of weight loss with GLP1 receptor agonists.
NOTE: We do advise that guests be over 18 as this event is focused on women’s health and the discussion may contain information about puberty and other aspects of female health. Ultimately, we leave it to parental discretion for teenage guests, but this event will not be geared toward children.
This event is no cost and casual attire is appropriate.
