If you’re interested in supporting individuals and families impacted by type 1 diabetes in a meaningful, but very manageable way becoming an Outreach Ambassador may be the perfect volunteer role for you!
We are currently recruiting Outreach Ambassadors in our Florida Territory. Outreach Ambassadors play an important role in helping newly diagnosed families feel supported and connected. This typically involves reaching out by phone and email/text to share resources, helpful links, and reassurance that they are not alone.
This role:
- Is not a large time commitment (4-6 hours per month).
- Is a remote volunteer position that is phone and email based.
- Focuses on making an initial, supportive connection to individuals or families impacted by a recent type 1 diabetes diagnosis.
Requirements:
- Must have direct connection to type 1 diabetes – self or child – in order to best connect with families.
- At least 1 year of experience with type 1 diabetes.
This volunteer role is a wonderful way to support newly diagnosed families, especially if you’re comfortable making phone calls, using email, checking messages periodically, and wanting to support Breakthrough T1D through outreach.
If you are interested and would like to set up a meeting with staff please email Casey, Outreach & Operations Director at CRadcliffe@BreakthroughT1D.org.
