Sarasota Cups of Hope – April

Cups of Hope is a gathering of people whose lives are affected by Type 1 Diabetes, including adults with T1D, spouses, parents, grandparents, caregivers, etc. Everyone is welcome! We gather together and share experiences and information to help us make life better for our Number 1 Type 1.
Please join us on Wednesday, April 8, at 10:15 for our monthly Cups of Hope Meeting at our NEW LOCATION-THE LAKEWOOD RANCH LIBRARY.
Our APRIL speaker will be Colleen Miller-Owen, APRN, CDCES, BC-ADM. Colleen is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management. She has over 30 years of experience caring for persons with diabetes. Colleen is passionate about making sure people with diabetes have the knowledge and access to the most up-to-date standards of care and technologies to help them with their diabetes care, with emphasis on Diabetes Technologies.
Colleen attended the ADA Clinical Standards of Care Update Conference this past February. She will discuss these latest updates with emphasis on Diabetes Technologies. She would also like to review diabetes survival skills, such as hypoglycemia care, sick day care, and DKA prevention
We are temporarily meeting at the Lakewood Ranch Library while the Fruitville Library is under construction.
