About

Join us for the Cleveland Breakthrough T1D Community Summit on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History!

What is a Community Summit?

Community Summits are engaging, educational events that bring together people of all ages and stages of Type 1 Diabetes. These gatherings are designed to help attendees learn, connect, feel inspired, and access meaningful resources in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The Summit is thoughtfully designed for children, teens, and adults living with T1D, as well as parents and caregivers, school nurses, and healthcare professionals. Each session is curated to meet the needs of different life stages and backgrounds—helping strengthen our community and support improved health outcomes.

We’re also excited to offer dedicated programming for youth and teens:

  • Teen Programming (Grades 8–12): Teens will take part in conversations about safe driving, have the opportunity to ask questions of a Diabetes Educator living with Type 1 Diabetes, enjoy fun team-building activities led by Camp Ho Mita Kodai, and a film in the Planetarium.
  • Youth Programming (Kindergarten–7th Grade): Younger participants will enjoy Camp Ho Mita Koda activities along with a kid-friendly film in the Planetarium.

This Summit is a great opportunity to learn, connect, and feel empowered—together as a community.
