Are you or someone you love between the ages of 4 and 17 and passionate about finding a cure for type 1 diabetes? If so, then be sure to apply to attend Children’s Congress and represent all those that are impacted by type 1 diabetes on Capitol Hill inWashington,D.C. from July 8-10. As a Children’s Congress Delegate from your state, not only will you travel toWashington to meet your Members of Congress, but you’ll also get the chance to help find a cure at the highest levels of the government.

The 2013 application will be available on August 6, 2012 and must be submitted by 5 pm (Eastern) on Thursday, November 1 to be considered for selection. All applicants will be notified of their status in late January or early February of 2013. Children’s Congress is held every other year alternating with the Promise campaign, Breakthrough T1D’s Children’s Congress brings more than 150 children with type 1 diabetes and their families to Washington, D.C. Children’s Congress participants represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia. They meet with Members of Congress and other key federal decision-makers to help educate them about the critical need for federal funding for type 1 diabetes research. Visit the Children’s Congress website to learn more.
