Welcome to Walk Spotlight where we will be recognizing some of our amazing teams from this year’s Breakthrough T1D One Walk!
We started Team “T” after our youngest son, Thompson, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in 2012. The diagnosis really threw us for a loop, but we have gained strength through watching our son fight his battle against this disease every single day. Thompson is so strong and his ability to not let T1D slow him down makes us so proud. He plays baseball, soccer and football and won’t let T1D hold him back from the things he loves.

Team “T” has grown these past 3 years and this year we had our high school and middle school football teams come out to the Breakthrough T1D One Walk to support him. Thompson loves football and is looking forward to playing with these boys next year at Prince of Peace Christian School. It meant the world that they would take the time to come walk with him.
We are overwhelmed with all the support that we receive from our family, friends, co-workers and school. Our family is truly grateful for their generosity and love. Team “T” has the same goal as Breakthrough T1D, to turn Type One into Type NONE.
