Here is a little bit about Carsyn Gragg and her reason for fundraising in the Breakthrough T1D One Walk Oklahoma City this year:
Carsyn is 12 years old and was diagnosed, at age 11, with T1D on July 31, 2015. She is an honor student, plays softball, basketball, and she loves to read. When she grows up she wants to attend OSU Vet school and one day open her own Vet clinic. Carsyn is fundraising to help find a cure for T1D. Before she was diagnosed she and her family had heard of T1D, but never knew how hard of an illness it was to live with. Carsyn checks her blood sugar 5-6 times a day, wears a continuous glucose monitor, and an insulin pump in order to maintain her blood glucose levels. She is constantly being asked by strangers, “What’s on your arm?” She has gracefully taken these opportunities to educate others on T1D. Carsyn fundraises to help find a cure, not only for herself, but for others who are affected by the same illness. She dreams of a life where she is not connected to devices that help her survive. Her family has made Carsyn’s fight, their fight! Please join her family and Breakthrough T1D in raising funds to help find a cure for T1D.
