More than 800 guests in black-tie attire gathered at the Omni Hotel Dallas on Saturday, April 6 for the 2013 Breakthrough T1D Dream Gala.
This year’s Dream Gala honored Men on a Mission Michael Plumer and his son Reid, Michael Keith, and Dr. Howard Harris and his son Hilton. Steve Eagar, Fox 4 News anchor, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The live auction became an inspirational event after several live auction bidders donated their winnings back to Breakthrough T1D to be sold again, raising even more for Breakthrough T1D!
The evenings focus was drawn to the Fund-A-Cure program as the three Men on a Mission shared the challenges living with type 1 diabetes and the hope they find in Breakthrough T1D. Jack Ingram then had the crowd dancing well into the night with his greatest hits and Texas charm.
The 2013 Dream Gala was a huge success raising over $1 million for Breakthrough T1D. Proceeds from this event fund research to treat, cure and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications in children and adults.
